TRAMWAY BOOGIE WOOGIE

The video was inspired by Piet Mondrian's painting "Broadway Boogie Woogie" from 1943. Using a digital camera I register the life of the city, based on the rules Mondrian's painting was composed, using vertical and horizontal lines and basic colors. He registered an impression of a large city - New York, I realise my video in... Lodz, ironically called "a small New York". The video consisted of the film documentation recorded through several days on tram stops. Manipulating the video that documented everyday life, I wanted to make it more optimistic and positively absurd. The soundtrack refers to the title of Mondrian's painting "Broadway Boogie Woogie".
