video-performance
A video-performance Action Painting is part of a "Body Printing" project. The video is based on the expression of the body and gesture. The title refers to the painting process of Jackson Pollock, Yves Klein and Gutai Collective works. People invited to participate in the video-performance are artists, art critics, students, but not performance artists. Action Painting is a kind of catharsis, freeing the energy and the participants' individual expression which changes into collective interaction. The result of the performance is a huge, co-painted picture. The participants recorded by a video-camera placed above them are moving elements of the composition. Close-ups shot from another camera, however, show the individual experiences of the participants and reduce the distance between the viewer and the performers.
